EU Trade Commissioner, Phil Hogan, announces 50 new jobs at fibre network and design firm, Entegro

An Irish company which is helping connect 30,000 homes and businesses a month in the UK and Ireland through its bespoke-design delivery tools, plans to create 50 jobs over the next 18 months at its new ‘Fibre Network Design Centre of Excellence’ headquarters in Kilkenny, which is officially opening today by EU Trade Commissioner, Phil Hogan.

Entegro is at the forefront of Telecommunications technology, designing and deploying fibre and hybrid networks for the future generations, which will bring the desired bandwidth capacity and content for its clients’ networks for decades to come. The company’s mission is to provide world class, cost-effective network solutions to the evolving telecoms industry globally.

The wholly Irish-owned company today, Friday, October 25, it is also eyeing major projects in the US and Europe as part of its multi million euro expansion. It has immediate vacancies for planning and design, fibre planning, GIS and other engineers, adding to its current, 100-strong workforce so it can almost double its workload.

Big names in Telecommunications such as Virgin Media, Siro, CityFibre, Fibrus, CTL, Enet and others have already engaged Entegro to help build their digital networks through their bespoke, end to end network planning and design services.

Entegro’s growth has been strategic and well planned and its expansion into wider Europe and the US is significant. Over the next two years it will expand its operations in Europe and the US and significantly increase its revenues.

Officially opening the new “Fibre Network” “Centre of Excellence” at Danville Business Park on the edge of Kilkenny city and announcing the company’s growth plans, Commissioner Hogan said: Commissioner Hogan said: “Connectivity is a prerequisite for future economic growth and job creation, particularly in rural areas.

“Entegro is helping to bridge the digital gap with its fibre and hybrid networks expertise. We’re now entering a significant phase in the development of broadband infrastructure in Ireland and across Europe, and companies like Entegro will be at the forefront of connecting our communities.

“The creation of 50 new jobs is great news for the area and the broader impact of Entegro’s work to help connect our citizens across the globe is hugely positive,” Commissioner Hogan said.

Entegro is passionate about delivering network growth for its clients, engineering technical growth, Managing Director, Jim Doyle, says.

“Fintan Shortall and I have over 50 years of combined experience in this sector. We are proud to be the trusted, go-to experts in the planning and design of future proofed fibre networks and empowering all our communities, be they towns or villages, cities or entire countries.

“We’ve come through our own unification this year through the coming together of our telecoms services under the Entegro banner. It is significant for our geographic scalability and growth.  Through Entegro, we now offer fully managed, out-sourced solutions or combinations of individual component services, as required.

“Everything we do is backed by Entegro’s commitment to quality, communication and social responsibility. We’re proud of what the entire Entegro team has achieved to date and are excited by the opportunities and challenges ahead in this new expansion phase.”

Director of Business Development of Entegro, Fintan Shortall said recruitment for at least 50 new staff begins immediately. “We’ve nine different nationalities working on our 100-strong team here in Kilkenny, at our Dublin hub and in the UK. Bringing our companies together has allowed us to future proof our business, to successfully meet different market requirements and grow in multiple markets

“From our headquarters in Kilkenny we’re building networks across Ireland, the UK and into the US. We’ve built a very strong team and together, we will significantly increase our turnover. Our growth wouldn’t have been possible without key members of our team, key among those Fergal Conway, Jimmy Murphy, Teri Barden, Teo Boanchis, Thomas Grant, Lorraine Murphy and more. The very best is yet to come for the entire Entegro team,” Mr Shortall vowed.
